Many families, especially the first time movers, find themselves in a bind when the moving day comes and they realize that they are not prepared for all of the food that will have to be moved. Don't let this be you. Learn as much as you can about moving food so you are prepared for any unexpected food situation!
The first thing you need to do before you move is to find a container that is big enough to hold all of your food. If you do not have a big enough container, you may want to rent a large box from a moving company or from your local grocery store.
After you have picked out a large enough container to hold all of your food, it is time to start thinking about what you will do with it once you are moving. You may decide that you will just throw some of your food in with the rest of your stuff. This is perfectly fine but there are some things you can do with the food that you do throw in.
The first thing you want to do is to make sure that you do not do anything that will kill the food or make it unhealthy for you to eat. If you are unsure then do some research online to see what you should not do with the food you have to move. If you are unsure then just throw the food away and throw away the containers as well. This is going to save you a lot of hassle in the long run!
After you have decided that you are not going to throw the food away, you are going to need to label the containers with what you plan on putting in them. Label all of your food with the date and time you moved it in and when it went bad.
Once you are finished labeling your food, you will want to place the containers in an area where you will not have to get them wet or be bothered by insects. Place them in a dry area and try to keep the area a little cool so that the food does not spoil.
Once you have the containers set up and in good condition you can then start to clean up the food that you are going to put in them. Remember that when cleaning your food that you do not use any of the food that you throw away as you are likely going to want to use it in the future.
When you are ready to put food into the containers you can put it in any way you choose. Most people prefer to put it into one large box but you can even break it up into small portions.
If you are putting a variety of food into your containers then you can do this as well. It is important to remember though that you will need to keep track of how much food you have and how much you are putting into the container. This will help you in the long run when you are trying to find food for future meals.
One of the most important things you can do when you are putting food in containers is to label the containers so you know exactly how much food you have in them. This will also help you remember to clean them when you are finished so you do not need to worry about having to throw out any leftover food.
Once you are done with the clean up, you will want to make sure that you keep the containers in a secure place and label them with a date. This is going to make it easier for you to find the food and make it easy for you to clean up.
When you are done with this you will then need to label the container so you know what goes where when you are cleaning up the food. You should be able to find the food in no time!
